Hugh M. Barton - Editor-In-Chief
Hugh M. Barton is an attorney in private practice in Austin, Texas, concentrating on regulatory, administrative and transactional health care matters. He earned his BBA degree from Southern Methodist University and his JD degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Mr. Barton serves as Chair of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and is on the Advisory Board of the Health Law Section of the Travis County Bar Association. He is also co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Medical-Legal Report.

Jeanine Lehman - Managing Editor
Jeanine Lehman is an attorney in Austin, Texas. Ms. Lehman's health law practice is focused on business law and transactional aspects of individual and group practices. She received her JD degree with honors from St. Louis University School of Law and her bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She has served as a hearings examiner for the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and Texas Board of Veterinary Examiners. She is the Managing Editor and co-founder of the Texas Medical-Legal Report.

Ken Messner - Software Developer, HIPAA Security Consultant
Ken Messner is a software consultant/developer in Austin, Texas. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Houston and later studied physiology at Baylor Medical School. His 25 year IT background includes providing computer systems to medical offices, work for the Texas Departments of Health and Human Services, and software development for the healthcare industry, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), HIPAA transactions, and web sites. He is president of Documented Systems Inc.

David E. Hunt - Medical Practice Management Consultant
David E. Hunt is a medical practice management consultant in Waco, Texas. In 1996, he merged Doctors Management Services, a 50 year old practice management consulting firm, with Parrish, Moody and Fikes, p.c., a full-service CPA firm. He joined Doctors Management Services in 1982 and assumed ownership in 1984. He provides physicians with a wide range of business services throughout Texas. He has authored numerous articles for Medical Economics, Physician's Management and Waco Medicine, is quoted in American Medical News and Texas Medicine, and is on the editorial board of Medical Office Manager.
